This Privacy Policy explains what personal information AssembleAtEase LLC collects, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website, booking platform, and customer and assembler portals. By using the platform, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Introduction
AssembleAtEase LLC ("we," "us," or "our") operates www.assembleatease.com and provides furniture assembly and home setup marketplace services based on current coverage in your area. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you visit our website, create an account, or book services through our platform.
2. Information We Collect
From Customers:
- Name, email address, phone number, and service address provided when booking
- Service details, scheduling preferences, and booking history
- Payment method details — collected and tokenized directly by Stripe, Inc. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe stores your card securely and we retain only a Stripe customer ID and last-four digits for rebilling purposes
- Communications you send us via email or our contact form
From Assemblers (Service Professionals):
- Full legal name, email, phone, city, and state
- Government-issued ID (driver's license or passport) submitted during identity verification
- Selfie photograph submitted during identity verification
- Background check consent collected as a condition of the Independent Contractor Agreement (checks may be conducted at the Company's discretion; not all assemblers are background-checked at this time)
- Service categories, experience, and profile information you provide
- Preferred payout method and related earnings-disbursement preferences you provide in the Easer portal
- Bank account, payout, or payment information submitted to our payment processor or otherwise provided for lawful earnings disbursement
Automatically Collected:
- IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages visited, time on site, click paths, and referring URLs
- Cookies and local storage (see Section 6 below)
3. How We Use Your Information
- To process bookings, manage payments, and deliver purchased services
- To verify assembler identity before platform approval
- To communicate with you about bookings, receipts, schedule changes, and support
- To send transactional notifications (confirmations, status updates, completion alerts)
- To send promotional communications — you may opt out at any time
- To improve our platform, diagnose technical issues, and analyze usage trends
- To comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as described below.
Service Providers
We engage trusted third-party companies to perform functions on our behalf. These providers may access your information only to perform services for us, are contractually required to safeguard it, and may not use it for their own purposes. The categories of providers we work with include:
- Payment processing — a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment processor (Stripe, Inc.) securely handles payments, card-on-file storage, and identity verification. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe Privacy Policy
- Cloud hosting & infrastructure — secure, U.S.-based cloud providers host our database, accounts, and platform data.
- Communications & email delivery — email service providers deliver booking confirmations, receipts, and status updates.
- Customer relationship management — a CRM provider helps us manage inquiries, follow-ups, and waitlist sign-ups.
- Analytics — analytics providers (such as Google Analytics) help us understand how visitors use our site. Analytics are loaded only after you consent to cookies (see Section 6).
Assigned Assemblers
Before an offer is accepted, assemblers receive only the limited job information needed to decide whether to accept it. After an assigned assembler accepts an active booking, we may share your name, service address, appointment and job details, phone number, and email address when needed for access, arrival, delay, or safety coordination. Assemblers are contractually limited to using that information for the active booking and must not retain or use it for off-platform solicitation. Terminal bookings should no longer expose contact details through the Easer portal. We do not sell your personal information to any third party for advertising purposes.
Legal & Safety Disclosures
We may disclose information when we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with the law, a subpoena, or a government request; to enforce our Terms; to detect, prevent, or address fraud or security issues; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AssembleAtEase, our users, or the public.
Business Transfers
If AssembleAtEase is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your personal information, and of any choices you may have.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit, row-level security at our database layer, a PCI-compliant card vault for payment data, and token-based authentication for portal access. However, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
6. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and browser local storage for:
- Essential cookies: Session tokens and authentication state (always active)
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4 — loaded only after you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. If you decline, GA4 is not loaded and no analytics data is collected for your session.
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or adjusting settings in your browser. Where supported, we honor browser-based opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC).
7. Data Retention
We retain customer booking and financial records for 3 years unless a longer period is required for tax, dispute, fraud, insurance, or other legal purposes. Government ID images and identity selfies are collected and retained by Stripe under Stripe's identity-data retention controls; AssembleAtEase stores verification status and Stripe session identifiers, not copies of the raw identity documents. If we conduct background checks, related consent records are retained as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Deletion requests are reviewed against these retention and legal-hold requirements.

Depending on your location, you have the following rights:

- Right to Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or outdated information
