AssembleAtEase ("we," "us," or "our") operates www.assembleatease.com and provides furniture assembly and handyman marketplace services in Austin, Texas. 2. Information We Collect
From Customers:
- Name, email address, phone number, and service address provided when booking
- Service details, scheduling preferences, and booking history
- Payment method details — collected and tokenized directly by Stripe, Inc. We never see or store your full card number; Stripe stores your card securely and we retain only a Stripe customer ID and last-four digits for rebilling purposes
- Communications you send us via email or our contact form
From Assemblers (Service Professionals):
- Full legal name, email, phone, city, and state
- Government-issued ID (driver's license or passport) submitted during identity verification
- Selfie photograph submitted during identity verification
- Background check consent and results processed by our third-party background screening partner
- Skills, experience, and profile information you provide
- Bank account or payment information submitted to Stripe Connect for earnings disbursement
Automatically Collected:
- IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages visited, time on site, click paths, and referring URLs
- Cookies and local storage (see Section 6 below)
3. How We Use Your Information
- To process bookings, manage payments, and deliver purchased services
- To verify assembler identity and conduct background checks before platform approval
- To communicate with you about bookings, receipts, schedule changes, and support
- To send transactional notifications (confirmations, status updates, completion alerts)
- To send promotional communications — you may opt out at any time
- To improve our platform, diagnose technical issues, and analyze usage trends

4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share data with the following third-party providers that power our platform. Each provider's use of your data is governed by their own privacy policy:

- HubSpot, Inc. — CRM and email marketing. When you submit our contact form, join the waitlist, or create an account, your name and email may be synced to HubSpot for follow-up and relationship management. HubSpot Privacy Policy
- Resend — Transactional email delivery. Booking confirmations, receipts, and status update emails are delivered via Resend. Resend Privacy Policy
- Google Analytics (GA4) — Website analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors interact with our site. GA4 is loaded only after you accept cookies (see Section 6). Data may include anonymized IP address, session duration, and pages visited. Google Privacy Policy
We also share limited data with assigned assemblers (your first name, service address, and appointment details) so they can complete your booking. We do not sell your personal information to any third party for advertising purposes.
5. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption in transit, row-level security in Supabase, Stripe's PCI-compliant card vault, and JWT-based authentication for portal access. However, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.
6. Cookies & Tracking
We use cookies and browser local storage for:
- Essential cookies: Session tokens and authentication state (always active)
- Analytics cookies: Google Analytics 4 — loaded only after you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. If you decline, GA4 is not loaded and no analytics data is collected for your session.
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or adjusting settings in your browser.
7. Data Retention
We retain customer booking records for 3 years for accounting and legal compliance. Assembler identity documents (government ID, selfie) are retained for 2 years post-approval or upon account closure, whichever is later, then deleted. We retain background check consent records for 5 years as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you have the following rights:
- Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Right to Correction: Request that we correct inaccurate or outdated information
