Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using our services.

Last updated: April 19, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing www.assembleatease.com or booking services through our platform, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use our platform. These Terms apply to both customers who book services and assemblers who provide services through AssembleAtEase.

2. Platform Overview

AssembleAtEase operates a marketplace connecting customers in the Austin, Texas area with independent service professionals ("Assemblers") for furniture assembly, TV mounting, home repairs, smart home installation, and related handyman services. AssembleAtEase facilitates bookings, handles all payments, and ensures quality through our vetting process, but Assemblers are not employees of AssembleAtEase.

3. Booking & Payment — Customers

Card on File & Charge Timing

To confirm a booking, you authorize AssembleAtEase to place your payment method on file with our payment processor, Stripe. Your card is not charged at booking time. A payment hold (authorization) is placed on your card at booking. Your card is charged only after the assigned Assembler marks the job complete — or in cases of no-show or cancellation per the policy below.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

To cancel, contact us at service@assembleatease.com or through your customer portal. Cancellations are time-stamped at receipt.

Pricing

Quoted prices are estimates. Final pricing is confirmed before work begins. Additional charges may apply for extra materials, complexity beyond original scope, or labor time exceeding the estimate. You will be notified of any upcharge before it is applied.

4. Dispute Resolution — Customers

If you are dissatisfied with completed work, contact us within 7 days at service@assembleatease.com. We will investigate and, at our discretion, may offer a re-do, partial refund, or full refund. Disputes not resolved through our support process may be escalated to binding arbitration under the American Arbitration Association (AAA) Commercial Arbitration Rules in Travis County, Texas. You waive the right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

Initiating a credit card chargeback before contacting our support team will be treated as a breach of these Terms and may result in account suspension.

5. Assembler Terms

Independent Contractor Status

Assemblers on the AssembleAtEase platform are independent contractors, not employees. Assemblers set their own availability, choose which jobs to accept, and use their own tools and equipment. AssembleAtEase does not withhold taxes on behalf of Assemblers. Assemblers are solely responsible for their own tax obligations.

Application Fee

Assemblers pay a one-time, non-refundable application fee of $30 to cover identity verification (government ID + selfie), background check, and platform onboarding. This fee is charged at the time of application submission and is non-refundable regardless of application outcome.

Commission

AssembleAtEase retains a platform service fee (commission) on each completed job, as outlined in your individual Contractor Agreement accepted during onboarding. Earnings after commission are paid out to your linked Stripe Connect account on a weekly schedule, typically processed on Mondays for jobs completed the prior week.

Code of Conduct

Assemblers must at all times:

Suspension & Termination

AssembleAtEase may suspend or permanently remove an Assembler from the platform at our sole discretion for: repeated late cancellations, customer complaints, violation of the Code of Conduct, fraudulent activity, or any behavior that harms customers or the platform's reputation. Earnings for completed jobs will still be disbursed after investigation, unless fraud is involved.

6. Warranty & Satisfaction Guarantee

AssembleAtEase guarantees the quality of all work completed through our platform for 7 days from the completion date. This covers workmanship defects (e.g., incorrectly assembled furniture, improperly mounted hardware). It does not cover pre-existing conditions, manufacturer defects, or damage caused by customer misuse after assembly.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AssembleAtEase's total liability for any claim arising from use of our platform shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific booking giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind. Assemblers are individually responsible for damage caused by negligence during service delivery.

8. Property Access & Safety

9. Intellectual Property

All content on the AssembleAtEase platform — including text, logos, images, and software — is the property of AssembleAtEase and protected by applicable IP laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

10. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at service@assembleatease.com.

11. Privacy

Your use of our platform is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use your personal information, including payment data handled by Stripe and analytics data collected via Google Analytics.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any legal action not subject to arbitration shall be filed in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by email and by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
