These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and AssembleAtEase LLC. They govern your access to and use of our website, booking platform, and services. Please read them carefully. If you have questions, contact us at service@assembleatease.com.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing www.assembleatease.com, creating an account, electronically accepting these Terms, or asking AssembleAtEase to create or confirm a booking for you by phone, text, email, or another direct channel, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform or allow Services to begin. When a booking is arranged directly, we may record the date, current Terms version, and method by which your agreement was confirmed. If you accept for a business or another person, you represent that you are authorized to bind that party.
2. Definitions
- "AssembleAtEase," "Company," "we," "us," "our" means AssembleAtEase LLC, a Texas limited liability company.
- "Platform" means our website, booking system, customer and assembler portals, communications, and related online services.
- "Customer," "you" means a person or entity that books or seeks to book Services through the Platform.
- "Assembler" (also "Easer") means an independent service professional who provides Services through the Platform.
- "Services" means furniture assembly, TV mounting, smart home setup, fitness equipment assembly, outdoor and playset assembly, office assembly, and related assembly and setup work booked through the Platform.
- "Booking" means a confirmed request for Services placed through the Platform.
- "Contractor Agreement" means the Independent Contractor Agreement an Assembler accepts during onboarding.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a legally binding contract to use the Platform. By using the Platform you represent that you meet these requirements, that the information you provide is accurate, and that your use complies with all applicable laws. Services are available only at addresses within our published service area and may not be available where prohibited by law.
4. Our Platform & Our Role
AssembleAtEase LLC ("AssembleAtEase") operates a marketplace connecting customers with independent service professionals ("Assemblers") for furniture assembly, TV mounting, smart home installation, and related assembly and setup services. AssembleAtEase facilitates bookings, handles all payments, and supports quality through our vetting process, but Assemblers are not employees of AssembleAtEase.
AssembleAtEase is a technology platform and intermediary. We do not ourselves perform the Services — the Services are performed by independent Assemblers. Except as expressly stated in these Terms (including our Workmanship Guarantee in Section 9), we are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or conduct of any Assembler or Customer.
5. Customer Terms: Booking, Payment & Cancellation
Card on File & Charge Timing
To confirm a booking, you authorize AssembleAtEase to place your payment method on file with our payment processor, Stripe. Your card is not charged at booking time. For near-term appointments, a payment hold (authorization) is placed on your card at booking. For appointments scheduled further in advance, your card is securely saved and the payment hold is placed closer to your appointment (typically about five days before). In all cases, your card is charged only after the assigned Assembler marks the job complete — or in cases of no-show or cancellation per the policy below.
Cancellation & Refund Policy
- More than 24 hours before scheduled service: Free. No charge — any payment hold is released in full, or if your card was saved for a later appointment and not yet held, no charge is made.
- Within 24 hours of scheduled service: A cancellation fee of 10% of the service subtotal (the service price only — excluding tax and any service-call fee).
- Within 2 hours, after an Assembler is en route, or a no-show (customer not present at the service address at the scheduled time): A cancellation fee of 15% of the service subtotal (excluding tax). You are never charged the full amount for service that was not performed.
Cancellation fees help compensate the assigned Assembler for reserved time and travel. A rescheduled booking forfeits the free-cancellation window. All fees are calculated by AssembleAtEase on the server at the time of cancellation.
To cancel, contact us at service@assembleatease.com or through your customer portal. Cancellations are time-stamped at receipt.
Pricing
Instant-booking prices are calculated from the selected scope and displayed with required fees and tax before confirmation. Custom quotes are not scheduled or authorized until the customer reviews and approves the final service subtotal, service-call fee, tax, total, and cancellation terms. If the scope changes after approval, AssembleAtEase must obtain approval for the revised amount before changing the payment authorization or starting additional work.
Direct, On-Site, and Partial Payments
A booking arranged directly with AssembleAtEase is governed by these Terms even when it was entered into the Platform by AssembleAtEase rather than submitted through website checkout. For those bookings, payment may be collected through a verified Stripe payment, card on site, invoice, cash, bank transfer, or another method stated in the booking record. A partial payment is applied to the agreed total and does not, by itself, settle the unpaid balance. We may reduce or waive an unpaid balance as a documented discount or goodwill adjustment, but we will not increase the agreed total without your approval. A payment receipt or booking record controls over an informal estimate.
Additional Scope and Return Visits
If the agreed work cannot be completed in one visit, the booking may show completed work, remaining work, and a return appointment. Unless both parties approve a price change, a return visit does not create a second charge or change the original agreed total. Work outside the confirmed scope requires a revised quote or other clear approval before it begins.
Promotions and AssembleCash
Promotional discounts are subject to the eligibility, expiration, and usage limits shown with the offer and have no cash value. AssembleCash is promotional future-booking credit, not cash, stored value, wages, or a bank account. Eligible customers earn 5% after a booking is completed and its payment is collected, may apply up to $20 per eligible future booking, and must use issued credit within 180 days. AssembleCash cannot be withdrawn or transferred. Refunds, reversals, fraud, or booking adjustments may reduce or reverse related credit.
6. Customer Satisfaction & Dispute Resolution
If you are dissatisfied with completed work, contact us within 7 days at service@assembleatease.com. We will review the booking record and available evidence and, when appropriate, may offer correction, a partial refund, or a full refund. Reporting promptly helps preserve evidence but does not waive a right that applicable law gives you.
Informal Resolution
Before starting arbitration, the claimant must send a written notice describing the claim, requested relief, booking reference, and contact information to service@assembleatease.com and allow 30 days for a good-faith resolution conference. Either party may request that the conference occur by phone or video. This requirement does not prevent either party from seeking urgent temporary relief or filing an eligible individual action in small claims court.
Individual Consumer Arbitration
Except for an eligible individual small-claims action or a claim seeking urgent temporary or injunctive relief, any unresolved dispute arising from these Terms, a booking, payment, or the Platform will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered under the American Arbitration Association (AAA) Consumer Arbitration Rules then in effect. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this agreement to arbitrate. The hearing may be held by video, phone, written submissions, in the county where the customer lives, or at another mutually agreed location. AssembleAtEase will pay arbitration fees it is required to pay under the AAA Consumer Rules. The arbitrator may award any individual remedy available in court and will issue a reasoned written decision.
No class proceedings; jury-trial waiver. Claims may be brought only on an individual basis, not as a plaintiff or class member in a class, collective, consolidated, coordinated, mass, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may award relief only to the individual claimant. To the extent a claim is subject to arbitration, each party waives trial by judge or jury. If this paragraph is found unenforceable as to a particular claim or remedy, that portion will proceed in court after all arbitrable matters are completed.
Thirty-day arbitration opt-out. A customer may opt out of this arbitration agreement, without affecting service, by emailing service@assembleatease.com within 30 days after first accepting this version of the Terms. The email must include the customer’s name, booking email or reference, and a clear statement that the customer opts out of arbitration. Opting out affects only arbitration; the remaining Terms still apply.
Card Disputes
Contact us first when practical so we can investigate and correct a billing issue quickly. Nothing in these Terms limits a lawful right to dispute a card transaction or report unauthorized use. Knowingly submitting false information, disputing a charge the customer knows was authorized and correctly processed, or using a card dispute to avoid payment for completed Services is prohibited and may result in account restriction and lawful collection activity.
7. Assembler Terms
Independent Contractor Status
Assemblers on the AssembleAtEase platform are independent contractors, not employees. Assemblers set their own availability, choose which jobs to accept, and use their own tools and equipment. AssembleAtEase does not withhold taxes on behalf of Assemblers. Assemblers are solely responsible for their own tax obligations. The Contractor Agreement accepted during onboarding governs the relationship between AssembleAtEase and each Assembler and controls in the event of any conflict with this Section.
Application Fee
AssembleAtEase may charge a one-time application fee of up to $30 to cover identity verification processing, application review, and platform onboarding. During launch programs, including the Founding Easer program, this fee may be waived, deferred, or credited at AssembleAtEase's discretion. If an application fee is charged, the fee and refund terms displayed at the time of submission control.
Commission
AssembleAtEase retains a platform service fee (commission) on each completed job, as outlined in your individual Contractor Agreement accepted during onboarding. Earnings after commission may be paid through Stripe Connect when enabled for the Contractor and available for the booking, or manually by AssembleAtEase through a mutually agreed lawful payment method such as bank transfer, check, Zelle, or another supported method. Payouts are typically issued within seven (7) business days after job completion and customer payment capture unless a job, customer payment, refund, damage claim, fraud review, or other dispute requires investigation.
Code of Conduct
Assemblers must at all times:
- Arrive on time and communicate proactively with customers if delayed
- Treat customers and their property with respect
- Complete work to a professional standard within accepted service categories
- Not solicit additional payment outside the AssembleAtEase platform
- Not share customer contact information or solicit customers for off-platform work
- Accurately represent their service categories and experience in their profile
Suspension & Termination
AssembleAtEase may suspend or permanently remove an Assembler from the platform at our sole discretion for: repeated late cancellations, customer complaints, violation of the Code of Conduct, fraudulent activity, or any behavior that harms customers or the platform's reputation. Earnings for completed jobs will still be disbursed after investigation, unless fraud is involved.
Identity and Background Screening
Identity verification is currently required for job readiness. AssembleAtEase may also require criminal-history, driving-record, reference, credential, or other lawful background screening before approval or at any time while an Assembler uses the Platform. When a third-party consumer report is requested and applicable law requires it, AssembleAtEase will first provide a separate disclosure and obtain the required written authorization. If report information may cause an adverse decision, AssembleAtEase will follow applicable pre-adverse and adverse-action procedures. Identity verification is not a representation that a full background check has been completed.
8. Acceptable Use & Prohibited Conduct
When using the Platform, you agree not to:
- Use the Platform for any unlawful, fraudulent, or unauthorized purpose
- Provide false, misleading, or incomplete information, or impersonate any person or entity
- Solicit or arrange payment or work outside the Platform with an Assembler or Customer you were introduced to through AssembleAtEase
- Harass, threaten, defame, or discriminate against any Customer, Assembler, or member of our staff
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not your own
- Scrape, copy, reverse-engineer, overload, or otherwise interfere with the Platform or its security
- Infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others
- Submit fraudulent bookings, payments, or chargebacks
We may investigate suspected violations and may suspend or terminate access, remove content, or take other action we consider appropriate.
Messages, Reviews, and Submitted Content
You are responsible for content you submit through messages, reviews, notes, or support requests. Content must be truthful, relevant, lawful, and must not disclose another person’s sensitive information without permission. You retain ownership of your content and grant AssembleAtEase a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, moderate, and use it to operate, protect, and improve the Platform. Public reviews may be displayed with the reviewer’s first name or other profile label. We may remove content that violates these Terms, but we do not promise to monitor every submission.
Photos and other job evidence may be collected or uploaded to document site condition, work progress, completion, damage, safety concerns, or a dispute. Such evidence is used for booking operations, safety, support, claims, and legal compliance. It will not be used in public marketing without separate permission. Customers must keep people, private documents, and unrelated personal property out of the photographed work area when practical.
9. Workmanship Guarantee
Customers should report a suspected workmanship issue within seven (7) days after completion. AssembleAtEase will review the booking record, photos, and available evidence and, when a covered workmanship issue is confirmed, coordinate a reasonable remedy such as a correction visit, partial refund, or other appropriate resolution. This support does not cover pre-existing conditions, manufacturer defects, undisclosed site conditions, or damage caused after service.
Reassembly, relocation, and pre-owned or used items. Some Services involve disassembling, moving, relocating, or reassembling items that were previously assembled, used, or aged (“Existing Items”), rather than assembling a new product from sealed manufacturer packaging. You acknowledge and agree that: (a) Existing Items may contain hardware, fasteners, plastic, wood, springs, fabric, or other components that are worn, fatigued, corroded, stripped, brittle, sun- or weather-degraded, previously modified, missing, or not original to the item, and that such conditions are frequently not visible or knowable before or during the Service; (b) the disassembly, movement, and reassembly of Existing Items carries an inherent risk that such components may crack, break, strip, loosen, fail, or not return to their original condition even when the Service is performed with reasonable care; (c) you represent that, to the best of your knowledge, each Existing Item is structurally sound and complete, and you will disclose any known damage, prior repair, missing parts, or weakness before the Service; (d) neither AssembleAtEase nor the Assembler is responsible for, and the Workmanship Guarantee does not cover, damage to or failure of Existing Items or their components arising from their pre-existing condition, age, wear, brittleness, prior assembly, or inherent fragility, as distinct from damage caused by the Assembler’s negligence; and (e) no refund, partial refund, or credit is owed for such pre-existing-condition damage or for an outcome limited by the condition of an Existing Item, and labor and the service-call fee remain due for work performed. If an Assembler determines that an Existing Item is unsafe or unsound to disassemble, move, or reassemble, the Assembler may decline or stop the Service, and reasonable charges for time and travel may still apply. Customer-supplied replacement parts or hardware are the Customer’s responsibility, and AssembleAtEase does not warrant third-party or worn hardware. Nothing in this paragraph limits any remedy you may have for damage actually caused by the Assembler’s negligence.
10. Disclaimers
Except for the limited Workmanship Guarantee in Section 9 and any warranty that cannot be excluded under applicable law, the Platform and the Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure. Identity verification confirms selected identity information and is not the same as a full background check. We may require separate background screening as described in Section 7, but not every Assembler has undergone that screening. No verification process eliminates all risk, and we do not guarantee any particular result beyond the Workmanship Guarantee.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AssembleAtEase's total liability for any claim arising from use of our platform shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific booking giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind. Assemblers are individually responsible for damage caused by negligence during service delivery.
Assumption of risk; no product liability. AssembleAtEase provides assembly and installation labor. It does not manufacture, design, sell, or supply the products, equipment, or hardware it assembles, and is not a merchant or seller of those products. You understand and agree that certain products — including but not limited to trampolines, playsets, swing sets, basketball goals, bunk and loft beds, and fitness equipment — carry inherent risks of injury when used, independent of assembly, and that safe use, supervision, maintenance, anchoring where required, and compliance with the manufacturer’s instructions and weight, size, and age limits are your responsibility after the Service is complete. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AssembleAtEase is not liable for personal injury, illness, or death, or for property damage, arising from (a) the design, manufacture, or defect of any product; (b) the use, misuse, condition, or maintenance of any product or Existing Item after the Service; or (c) the inherent condition of an Existing Item.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for a party’s gross negligence, willful misconduct, or fraud, or any right or remedy you have under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices–Consumer Protection Act that cannot be waived. If any limitation or release in these Terms is held unenforceable, it will be applied only to the maximum extent permitted by law.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless AssembleAtEase LLC and its members, officers, employees, and agents from and against any claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Platform; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your violation of any law or the rights of a third party; and (d) for Assemblers, the performance of any Services. This obligation survives termination of these Terms.
13. Property Access & Safety
- Customers must have authority to permit entry and the requested work and must obtain landlord, property-manager, HOA, or other approvals when required.
- Customers must provide safe, reasonable access and keep children, pets, bystanders, fragile items, and valuables away from the work area.
- Customers must disclose known hazards and concealed conditions, including lead paint, asbestos, utilities, plumbing, wiring, weak walls, prior repairs, water damage, or structural issues.
- For mounting or anchoring work, the customer must approve placement and supply any product-specific mount, bracket, fastener, or specialty hardware unless the confirmed scope states otherwise. The Assembler may decline a location or method that appears unsafe or unsuitable.
- Assembly does not include licensed electrical, plumbing, structural, engineering, or permit-required work unless the confirmed scope expressly says otherwise and a legally qualified provider performs it.
- AssembleAtEase and Assemblers are not liable for damage caused by undisclosed pre-existing or concealed conditions, except to the extent applicable law provides otherwise.
14. Intellectual Property
All content on the AssembleAtEase platform — including text, logos, images, and software — is the property of AssembleAtEase and protected by applicable IP laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.
15. Accounts, Suspension & Termination
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access at service@assembleatease.com.
You may stop using the Platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms, suspected fraud, or any risk to the Platform or its users. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination — including payment obligations, Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Dispute Resolution, and General Provisions — will survive.
16. Privacy
Your use of our Platform is governed by our Privacy Notice, which explains how we collect, use, retain, and share personal information, including payment data handled by Stripe, identity-verification data, AI chat content, job evidence, communications, analytics, and advertising measurement.
17. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Except for an eligible individual small-claims action or when applicable law requires a different forum, any legal action not subject to arbitration shall be filed in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms prospectively. We will post the revised version and update the date above. When a material change requires renewed agreement, we will ask for it before the affected transaction or continued feature use. The version accepted for a booking generally governs that booking unless the parties lawfully agree otherwise.
19. General Provisions
Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Notice and (for Assemblers) the Contractor Agreement, are the entire agreement between you and AssembleAtEase regarding the Platform and supersede any prior agreements on that subject.
Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or severed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets.
Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
Force Majeure. We are not liable for any delay or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, severe weather, utility or network failures, labor disputes, or government action.
Electronic Communications. You consent to receive communications, agreements, and notices from us electronically, and you agree that electronic communications satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing.
SMS Communications
If you separately opt in, AssembleAtEase may send transactional text messages about your booking, appointment, assigned Easer, arrival, or account status. Message frequency varies based on booking activity. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to text messages is not a condition of purchase.
You may opt out at any time by replying STOP. After opting out, you will receive no further text messages unless you opt in again by replying START or giving new consent. Reply HELP for help, email service@assembleatease.com, or call 737-290-6129. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
